Regent Global Funds Defeats Bearish Market with Alternative Strategy

Positive 9.3% for Alternative Lending Fund in Down Market

Chicago, Illinois: July 17, 2008: Alternative investment and lender, Regent Global Funds, is reporting to its private investors a positive 9.3% annualized return for the first half of 2008. With the Dow reporting a -14.4% for the same time frame, this represents an overall 23.4% difference in performance. When asked for reasons contributing to the positive returns despite the momentum shift of the market, Dominic Mazzone, Managing Partner, provided this answer, “I think we performed well and bucked the trend for several reasons. Since we are a small fund, we have had the ability to uphold our stringent guidelines thus allowing us to pick and choose our deals, unlike large multi-billion dollar funds that widened their guidelines to place large amounts of money. Wider guidelines translated into considerable risk for the larger funds, and has shown itself in the form of defaults and the need to carry unfinished construction projects due to conventional take-out lenders being absent. In addition we (the Managing Partners) are required to be personally invested in the fund, and I think it is clear that accountability breeds results.” Michael Facchini, Managing Partner, added, “Since we are a small fund, we have the ability to be hands on with all of our loans and create solutions to prevent defaults before they occur.”
